Veterinary Diagnostic Histopathologist
We are currently looking for an additional pathologist to join our established histopathology team at our site in Norfolk, working within a large commercial diagnostic laboratory. We handle a wide range of sample types from both UK and international clients dealing predominantly with companion animals, both first and second opinion practices, but we also have a significant exotic case workload and a developing equine and farm animal diagnostic capability.
Ideally you will have completed a residency course in anatomic pathology and be board/FRCPath qualified. You will work alongside 10 on-site and 6 remote pathologists, who will assist in your further professional development. You will be exposed to a wide range of material and be able to develop your own areas of interest. There will also be opportunities to have training in other areas such as immunohistochemistry.
We have invested heavily in digital pathology being one of the few commercial laboratories with this new technology. There is an on-going commitment to support new areas of work and develop techniques in the field of diagnostic pathology that can benefit our clients. The laboratory is also currently supporting residency programs in clinical and anatomic pathology.
Development of links with other laboratories, universities and referral practices is encouraged and we are currently collaborating on a number of research projects.
A board certified (ACVP/ECVP) or FRCPath qualified person is preferred, however other suitably experienced applicants who have completed a residency program will be considered. We would encourage and help all non-board applicants to continue study to achieve certification in their preferred college.
Salary will be based on the successful candidates training needs and experience, and we offer a wide range of additional benefits. Progression over time within the team would be expected.
